Meet Casper. Casper is an 11-year-old Maltese with a happy tail, a soft heart, and one very clear life goal: to be as close to his person as physically possible. This sweet little guy is the ultimate companion dog. He loves being near you, watching you, following you, snuggling you, and being held like a baby. He’s calm, cuddly, relaxed, and well-behaved — but make no mistake, Casper is happiest when his human is within reach. One of Casper’s greatest joys is the yard. He loves having a safe fenced space where he can sniff, wander, and frolic through the grass at his own little pace. A fenced yard would be a dream for him, especially because rain is absolutely not his favorite and grass time is one of the things that makes him happiest. Casper is potty trained (uses pee pads), good on leash, low energy, and very good at communicating what he needs — whether that’s food, a bathroom break, bedtime, or simply being picked up and carried around. He can be left alone for short periods with a pee pad available, but he does feel most secure when someone is home more often than not. At night, Casper has one very important requirement: he needs his person close by to fall asleep. He prefers to start the night in his human’s bed or curled up beside them on the couch. Once he’s fully passed out, he can be moved to his own dog bed, but if you’re someone who welcomes a little dog into bed, Casper would be in absolute heaven. Casper has a slight back leg issue that gives him a funny little waddle when he runs, but it doesn’t bother him or slow him down. He’s also scheduled for a dental and is currently loving his wet food meals. Casper is happy, sweet, goofy, loving, and calm. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much — just a cozy couch, a soft bed, a little patch of grass, and a human who understands that being loved by Casper means being loved very, very closely.
