About Rickie

Rickie’s world turned upside down not long ago—she lost both her favorite person and her brother, Toby. Now alone at the shelter in Clinton, ME, she’s adjusting as best she can. Rickie is an 11-year-old, 65-pound black lab mix, spayed and fully vaccinated. She’s naturally sweet with people and opens up especially well around gentle, confident dogs; she’d really benefit from a calm adult household that already has a mellow canine companion. Rickie is house trained and moves well for her age with daily walks and mellow car rides, although some arthritis means she takes Dasuquin to keep her joints comfortable. Loud noises rattle her, so a quieter setting is a must. Rickie does not get along with cats but is known to enjoy the company of respectful dogs and is trusted around children. She has lost a lot but is still eager for someone patient to show her life can feel safe and loving again. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
