Meet Amelia, a sweet 6-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who is searching for a calm, loving home to call her own. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her affectionate personality truly shines. With patience and kindness, she quickly warms up and forms a strong bond with her person, happily staying close by their side and soaking up love and attention. Amelia does best with more submissive dogs who respect her space and gentle nature. She would thrive in a home that understands shy dogs sometimes need extra time to settle in and build trust. She is spayed and recently had a dental procedure that included numerous tooth extractions, and she is already feeling much more comfortable and happy. She is also suspected to have luxating patellas, a common condition in small dogs where the kneecaps occasionally shift out of place. This may cause an occasional little "skip" or hop in her step. At this time, it is not causing her pain or affecting her mobility, and no further diagnostics or treatment are being pursued by CSHS. Once Amelia feels secure, she becomes a loyal, loving companion with a gentle spirit and so much love to give.
