Meet Lola Marie, our little 12lbs Lhasa Apso mix - maybe with Shih Tzu? Some dogs come into rescue because they were lost. Lola Marie came back because the people she loved lost each other. At only a year and a half old, this little Lhasa/Shih Tzu mix has already lived through more change and heartbreak than any dog ever should. She was adopted once. She had a family once. A couch to curl up on. Voices she knew. Arms she trusted. Then life changed for the humans she loved, and somehow Lola Marie became the piece that no longer fit. She was returned to rescue alongside several other pups, quietly watching her whole world disappear for the second time in her short little life. And still… she loves. She still leans into people for affection. She still wants to be carried like the tiny princess she believes she is. She still makes friends everywhere she goes with her soft eyes and sweet little spirit. She still believes humans are worth trusting, even after being left behind. That kind of forgiveness is hard to understand. Lola Marie is fully vetted, heartworm negative, and spayed. She does well with other dogs as long as they are respectful of her space, and she has been wonderful with her foster family and with children. Cats are still an unknown. What Lola Marie really needs now is not just another home. She needs the last home. The kind where she never again has to wonder why the people she loved disappeared. The kind where she is treasured during the good seasons and the hard ones too. The kind where “forever” finally means forever. Somewhere out there is a person who needs this little dog as much as she needs them. Maybe Lola Marie has already had her heartbreak. Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
