Buttercup is a mellow senior Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix in Houston, TX who just wants easy days and quiet company. She’s about eleven and a half, mostly blind and deaf, has had an eye removed, and beat some mammary tumors. She isn’t a barker, doesn’t get into trouble when you aren’t looking, and is content doing her own thing on her terms. Most of her day is spent lounging on the couch, usually wanting a hand up since she doesn’t jump anymore. She won’t join you on walks—she’ll walk nicely on leash if you must, but she’d rather nap close by. Buttercup gets along just fine with other dogs and cats, and she’s used to a crate. She’s house trained as long as you stick to a schedule, and she’s learned to nudge her doggy doorbell when she has to go out. She’s agreeable about wearing a diaper if you put it on at the right time. She has sensitive skin and does best eating salmon and rice. Toys don’t interest her, but she loves bunching up her blankets and switching up her favorite sleeping spots. Buttercup is polite at mealtimes and surprisingly patient.
