Joey is a cheerful little Pom mix with the heart of a baby kangaroo — always hopping after his favorite people and happiest when curled up close for cuddles. Whether it’s the couch, the bed, or following you from room to room, Joey wants to be wherever his person is. He’s full of puppy spirit, always smiling, and absolutely loves squeaky toys and games of “keep away.” An unfortunate accident left Joey without his right hind leg, but like a resilient little joey, he has adapted beautifully to life on three legs. Full of energy, he loves being outdoors and exploring, though he will chase squirrels, birds, and other wildlife, so a fenced yard or leash is important. Joey is currently recovering from surgery, so no walks just yet, and a home with fewer stairs would be best. Joey is house trained, when kept on a schedule and will pace by the door to let you know he needs to go out. A dog friend of similar size might be right up Joey's alley and if there are cats in the house, he is ok with that as well. Once he has a chance to get to know them, humans are ok, though a home without small children would be best. Spending time in a crate is not his thing. Joey can be a bit vocal at times, so no apartment living for this little guy. For the right family, this energetic little kangaroo-hearted pup will make a loving and loyal companion. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background.
