About Rusty

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Rusty, a 9 lb bundle of goofy, sweet, and nervous energy wrapped in irresistibly soft Pomeranian fur. Having spent the early part of his life as a breeding dog, he is still figuring out how to trust people, but lights up around other dogs—he simply adores them! Rusty is happiest in homes with another friendly canine companion, and he's also cat-friendly. He needs a quiet household with a steady routine and no small children to feel truly safe. Rusty’s favorite activity is a full-speed sprint around the fenced yard and rolling in plants; a secure backyard or frequent dog park trips are high on his wish list. Though affectionate with his foster mom and happy to give little hand kisses, he’s still learning to accept pets and is not ready to snuggle just yet. After a dental procedure, Rusty sports a winning smile—his lips get caught on his remaining teeth, making silly faces that bring laughter and joy. He’s searching for a patient family willing to let him settle in at his own pace and teach him that human affection can be a wonderful thing. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
