Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Elvis #5 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Elvis #5 | 3 month old Shepherd mix | Belly rub enthusiast Elvis is a 3-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing around 20 pounds with a sweet, goofy personality and all the adorable puppy charm you could ask for. This handsome boy is playful, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing for such a young pup. He loves toys, chew bones, walks, cuddles, and especially belly rubs — if you stop petting him, there is a good chance he will immediately roll over asking for more. Like most puppies, Elvis is still working on potty training and learning the ropes of life in a home. He is making great progress but will need continued patience, consistency, and routine as he grows. As with any puppy adjusting to a new environment, adopters should expect there may be accidents while he settles in and learns a new routine. Elvis absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys playing with pups of all sizes. He has also done well with cats. While he would likely love a canine companion in his forever home, he could also thrive as a solo dog with plenty of attention and enrichment. He is doing nicely with leash walking for his age, though he still has some hilarious puppy moments — including barking at suspicious objects like fire hydrants and “Children at Play” signs. He is also in the typical puppy mouthy/play-biting stage but is already improving with redirection and guidance. Elvis has done very well when left home alone for short periods and has not been destructive. Crate training is still a bit of a work in progress, however, as he prefers sleeping with the crate door open rather than fully confined. Like any young puppy, Elvis alternates between full-speed zoomies and epic naps. As he grows, he will likely become a medium-to-high-energy dog who will need regular exercise, structure, and continued training to thrive. Elvis and his littermates were found as strays at a very young age, but despite that rough start, he has blossomed into a loving, happy little pup who is ready to find his forever family. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you.
