Cricket is a brown tabby with a lot of thoughts and not quite a full plan for them yet. She came from a crowded home in the Chicago area, and these days she’s figuring out how she feels about attention—spoiler: she wants it, she’s just still workshopping the delivery. She’ll happily announce herself with a loud, slightly confused meow, and she does enjoy pets... until she’s not totally sure what to do with all those feelings and might offer a gentle nibble. It’s all part of her process. Cricket is starting to come out of her shell more each day. She loves canned food (truly the fastest way to win her over), has discovered the magic of catnip, and has a special talent for completely redecorating blankets overnight. She also has the most amazing blep that is quite endearing! Like her foster sister Junebug, Cricket will need a home with another cat and a patient adopter who understands that confidence takes time. She’s a work in progress—but the kind that’s absolutely worth it. This cat attends Saturday adoption events (10 AM to 2:30 PM) and Sunday Adoption Events (12pm to 3pm) at our Verona Adoption Center, and may also be met by appointment in Verona by approved adopters.
