About Elara

Elara's life began with heartbreak. She was handed to one of our southern rescuers after her entire family — including her mom — was killed by a roaming animal. She was so tiny that her umbilical cord was still attached when shelter staff placed her in safe hands. But even in those first fragile moments, Elara showed the spark of a survivor. She was rushed to an experienced bottle feeder, where she thrived. Every feeding, every cuddle, every milestone revealed a determined little kitten who refused to let her rough start define her. Once she was weaned, she moved to a new foster home — and that's where her personality burst into full bloom. Elara immediately showed off her stellar social skills with people, soaking up affection and seeking out human attention at every opportunity. What she needed was practice with other kittens, so Nyx and Twinkle Toes stepped in as her tiny classmates. With their help, Elara learned how to play gently, share toys, and enjoy the fun of having feline friends. Today, Elara is a bold, bright, endlessly entertaining little firecracker. She's a live wire in a boring world — an excellent climber, a wandtoy enthusiast, and a brave, peopleloving kitten who greets life headon. She's childfriendly thanks to her confident, social nature. Dogs still make her puff up like a Halloween cat, but with slow, proper introductions, she could do well with a calm, catfriendly pup. Elara has finally mastered the art of playing nicely with others and would be happiest with another kitten buddy to keep her company. If you're looking for a kitten who is affectionate, resilient, playful, and full of personality, Elara is ready to bring her spark into your home. Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only. All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
