About Strawberry

🍓🧃 WARNING: Strawberry Capri Sun may contain excessive sweetness, surprise zoomies, and an uncontrollable urge to make you say “awww” every 12 seconds. Meet Strawberry — the human equivalent of finding an ice-cold Strawberry Kiwi Capri Sun in the bottom of the cooler on a 100° summer day. Pure joy. Instant serotonin. This sweet girl is the perfect mix of sugar, silliness, and puppy antics. One minute she’s bouncing around like she just chugged an entire juice pouch collection, and the next she’s melting into your lap like she’s been personally offended by the concept of not cuddling. She’s playful, goofy, and fully committed to making every single thing in life feel exciting — whether that’s toys, leaves, your shoelaces, or simply existing in your general vicinity. Strawberry is one of those puppies that makes people smile without even trying. She’s friendly, happy, and has the kind of personality that feels like sunshine with paws. 📍 Location: Oklahoma City, OK -Adopters will need to come pick up their new furry family member themselves. Apply at: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Strawberry is a 12 week old, 14lb female Great Pyrenees mix who somehow ended up with some of the coolest facial markings on the planet and fully understands the power they hold. One dramatic head tilt and suddenly you’re handing over treats, toys, snacks, your spot on the couch, and possibly your social security number. She is simply too cute to argue with. This little girl came into rescue after she, her siblings, and their mom were abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, what followed turned into an absolute parasite convention. Ticks. Intestinal parasites. More ticks. Just an entire nightmare buffet of grossness no puppy should ever experience. In fact, her sister Cherry almost lost her life because of how severe it was. Cherry had to be hospitalized and receive a blood transfusion after having well over 100 ticks removed from her tiny body…with still more left to pull. It was heartbreaking, horrifying, and honestly enough to make your skin crawl for the next 3-5 business days. But thankfully, that chapter is over now. Strawberry is very much in her “goofy little sister” era when it comes to other dogs. She LOVES to play and assumes everyone else also wants to participate in her extremely important puppy activities immediately. She bounces around like a fluffy pinball, brings endless entertainment, and has mastered the art of dramatic play wrestling followed by immediate nap crashes. She’s been great with kids of all ages and is the kind of puppy that treats tiny humans like potential best friends. She’s playful, sweet, and always ready to join whatever game is happening — though, like any puppy, she may occasionally forget that feet are not technically toys. She hasn’t officially been around cats yet, but based on her personality, we think she’d likely do just fine with a cat willing to hand out a few respectful life lessons. She’s still young, curious, and very teachable, so a dog-savvy cat who can establish boundaries would probably have her trained in approximately 14 business minutes. Strawberry’s energy level sits around a solid 7/10. She is very much a puppy operating system — part explorer, part cuddle bug, part tiny prehistoric menace. Her foster lovingly describes her as a “mini T-Rex,” and honestly? Accurate. Strawberry fully believes running at top speed through the house chasing people, toys, shadows, and occasionally absolutely nothing is an appropriate use of her time. She has the enthusiasm of a toddler after birthday cake and the coordination of a shopping cart with one bad wheel. In other words…she’s perfect. She LOVES to explore and would happily inspect every leaf, stick, puddle, and suspicious backyard noise if given the chance. Adventure is very exciting to her…right up until she suddenly remembers she’s just a baby and immediately falls asleep mid-evening like a tiny exhausted frat boy. She does well in the car once she’s loaded up (currently she still needs help getting in because, you know, tiny legs), and she especially enjoys sticking her head out the window to gather neighborhood gossip. She also loves toys, enjoys playing in water, and approaches life with the confidence of someone who has never paid taxes a single day in her life. That said, she also takes her relaxation very seriously. After a hard day of being adorable and having fun, she is more than happy to crash out for a dramatic puppy nap. Now, as adorable as Strawberry is, her future family does need to remember one very important thing: This girl is still a BABY baby. An extremely cute baby, yes. A baby with excellent facial markings and professional-level puppy eyes? Also yes. But still very much a puppy who is learning how the world works. That means her new family will need to continue working on all the important puppy basics like potty training, leash training, socialization, manners, and helping her learn that not every object in existence is meant to be investigated with her mouth. She’s smart, eager, and at a great age to learn — but puppies do not arrive preloaded with life skills no matter how confident they act. Socialization will also be incredibly important for her as she grows. Strawberry can be a little shy with new people at first, so continuing to expose her to new environments, people, sounds, and experiences in a positive and safe way will help her mature into a confident adult dog instead of a suspicious fluffy neighborhood investigator. Like all puppies, Strawberry will thrive most with a family committed to structure, routine, continued training, and realistic expectations. The reward for surviving the baby shark phase? An incredibly sweet, goofy, loving companion who already has all the makings of a really wonderful dog. Strawberry is playful, affectionate, funny, resilient, and learning more every single day what it means to just be a happy puppy. She loves her people hard, brings entertainment everywhere she goes, and has the kind of face that could probably convince a jury she did absolutely nothing wrong. Honestly, we’re pretty obsessed with her. Now, before you start emotionally adopting her in the comments section and calling her “your baby,” you do actually need to fill out an adoption application first so we can send it over to her foster family for review. You can apply to adopt Strawberry here: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app And yes — you will need to come pick her up in Oklahoma City. She is many things, but unfortunately she has not yet unlocked teleportation abilities or learned how to operate Delta Airlines. So go fill out that application before someone else falls victim to the facial markings and tiny T-Rex energy first.
