About Bunny

Meet Bunny. She is about four months old, weighs 33 pounds and is spayed. Bunny is living in a foster home so if you're interested in adopting her, the first step is to email us pets@michianapets.org for an application. We truly want to see Bunny thrive in her new home. Therefore, she needs to be adopted into a home with a confident, friendly dog. Interested adopters must have experience with German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and/or working dogs. Bunny's foster mom knows her best so here is a note from her: "Bunny is the more outgoing than her furbrother, but she is still very cautious of anything unfamiliar. She makes it through the night with no accidents and has free reign of my kitchen. Her favorite chew toy is a red throw blanket currently. We've been working on walks with lots of treats for motivation, but she spooks easily and tries to bolt if she sees other people or animals so keeping her harness clipped to her Martingale collar is still essential for her safety. She sits for treats and is working on her recall. She's very dependent on her person and wants to be with you all the time. When left without supervision she has normal mischievous puppy tendencies-turning everything into a chew toy. She's an energetic lover-girl that gets along well with both my older and younger dog. She's seen neighborhood cats and is curious but redirects quickly. She hasn't had the easiest start, but has come so far with lots of patience and treats. Bunny is not into being touched or handled by strangers. It takes a long time to build trust and familiarity. She does better in calm environments, but is also very active and playful. Bunny is super dependent on her furbrother and it must be acknowledged that she may have a challenging adjustment period. She is intelligent and observes everything. She will require A LOT of time, patience and commitment. Bunny can crawl over gates and has never been in a locked crate since she does so well just hanging out. She can be an escape artist when introduced to new environments but she does improve over time. To set her up for success as an adult dog, it's going to take special, hugely-committed humans. She has succeeded with us so we know it is very possible for her to continue to do so. Bunny has done well with older, very respectful kids. She's never shown any aggression, but a slow approach and a slow adjustment is the way to making it all successful for her." -Bunny's foster mom.
