About Skylar

MEET SKYLAR! Skylar is a 2-year-old sweetheart with a constant smile and a happy-go-lucky personality that is impossible not to love. While we suspect she may have a little Husky in her mix, she keeps the "talking" to a minimum and is overall a wonderfully well-behaved girl with a soft coat and an even softer heart. This active young pup loves spending time outdoors, especially when there's room to run and a game of fetch involved. She walks nicely on leash overall, though she can get little bursts of excitement and pull occasionally - something that should continue to improve with regular walks and consistency. Skylar seems very interested in playing with other dogs, though we have not yet done close introductions. We do not currently know how she does with cats. Because of her younger energy and enthusiasm, we think she would do best with children ages 10 and up. One thing we do know? Skylar keeps her kennel very clean here at the rescue and has never made a mess, which is a wonderful sign for future house training success. Like many rescue dogs, she may need a little time to learn her new home's routine and how to signal when she needs to go outside, but we think she will catch on beautifully. If you're looking for a sweet, active companion who will happily join you for walks, playtime, and cozy evenings after a day of fun, Skylar may be your perfect match. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you would like to meet Skylar, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
