Cloudy — All White, All Energy, Absolutely Not a Lap Dog, Absolutely Worth It Cloudy is six months old, a Shepherd Husky mix, all white and genuinely breathtaking, and she has more energy than she quite knows what to do with yet — which is saying something, because she has a lot of ideas about what to do with it. She is not going to curl up on you for movie night. She is not going to melt into your lap or lean against your leg for a long quiet evening. What she is going to do is be right there, in your orbit, fully present, ready to go the absolute second you are. She expresses love through action and proximity rather than physical affection, which is completely on brand for a herding dog and completely genuine once you understand her language. She is social, she is engaged, and she wants to be part of everything happening around her. She just has her own way of showing it. She is great with other dogs and strongly preferred to go to a home that already has one — an adult dog who can match her energy, play with her properly, and give her a canine counterpart to figure the world out alongside. Cats are a different story. Cloudy is, and we say this with full respect for her emotional experience, absolutely terrified of them — and responds to that terror by barking at them from what she has determined is a safe distance. We respect the boundary. The cats are less enthusiastic. Small children are not the right fit either, as she will chase, jump on, and nip in the way that high drive herding puppies do — older kids who understand her energy and can engage with her appropriately are a much better match. The yard situation needs to be addressed directly: it must be large, it must be fully secured, and it must be inspected with the assumption that Cloudy will find every gap, test every weak point, and treat the whole perimeter as an engineering challenge. She has already demonstrated this ability. She is thorough. Cloudy needs structure, purpose, and an active owner with herding breed experience who understands that a Shepherd Husky mix is not a dog you simply have — she is a dog you partner with. Give her a job, give her space to run, give her an adventure buddy who can keep up, and she will be the most loyal, ridiculous, stunning companion you have ever had the pleasure of trying to keep up with. She is a whole hobby. The right person already knows that is exactly what they were looking for.
