She was rescued from the Andong wildfire area in South Korea and has since shown herself to be one of the sweetest and most emotionally soft dogs her foster family has ever met. Delta is quiet, observant, affectionate, and deeply kind. She is not the type of dog who overwhelms people with energy or demand. Instead, she slowly builds trust and becomes incredibly loving once she feels emotionally safe. 🌿 Personality • Extremely gentle, sensitive, and well-mannered • Quiet indoors with very little barking • Affectionate once bonded and enjoys physical closeness • Loves sleeping beside her people and leaning against them • Very tolerant during handling, grooming, and daily care • Food motivated and enjoys nose work activities 👩👩👧 With People • Initially shy with strangers, especially outdoors • Never aggressive — simply cautious and sensitive • Warms up steadily when allowed to approach at her own pace • Loves affection once comfortable and will actively seek pets and closeness • No major difference between men and women, though sudden movement or loud noises can startle her Her foster recommends: • Letting Delta approach first • Avoiding forced handling initially • Using treats, calm energy, and patience to build trust 👶 With Children • Previous foster reported she did well with children • Likely best with calm, respectful kids rather than loud or chaotic environments 🐶 With Other Dogs Delta is extremely social and emotionally appropriate with other dogs. • Gets along beautifully with both large and small dogs • Reads social cues very well • Gentle with shy dogs and tolerant of rude behavior • Has even attempted to “mediate” conflicts between dogs at dog cafés • Could thrive either as an only dog or with another calm, friendly dog Her foster believes other dogs help Delta feel safer and more confident in new situations. 🚶 Walks & Exercise Delta loves walks and outdoor activity. Current routine: • Morning walk: 30–40 minutes • Evening walk: 1–1.5 hours Important notes: • 100% outdoor potty trained • Pulls strongly at the beginning of walks due to excitement • Startles easily at sudden loud sounds or unfamiliar people nearby • May freeze or move away when frightened • Does not pick up food outdoors Her foster strongly recommends: • Using both a harness and collar during the adjustment period • Gradual confidence-building around environmental noise She especially enjoys: • Long sniff walks • Exploring outdoors • Nose work and food enrichment • Quiet observation of surroundings 🏠 Home Behavior • Very calm and low-maintenance indoors • No destructive behavior or chewing issues • No separation anxiety observed • Quietly rests or sleeps while home alone • Loves soft resting spaces and sleeping in bed with her people 💬 Barking • Rarely barks • Occasionally gives a single bark when overly excited before walks or when correcting another dog 🚗 Car Rides • Limited direct experience with current foster • Previous handlers reported she traveled calmly 🛁 Grooming & Handling One of Delta’s standout qualities is how tolerant and cooperative she is. • Tolerates bathing, paw wiping, brushing, and teeth care • May dislike parts of grooming but patiently allows handling • No growling, snapping, or defensive behavior observed 🧸 Favorite Activities • Nose work • Treat puzzles and enrichment • Long walks and sniffing • Quiet companionship • Pulling tags off plush toys 😂 🍽 Diet & Health • Currently eating Harim Bob-i-Boyak Joint Health formula • No known allergies • Healthy overall and slightly lean • Fleas, ticks, and heartworm prevention must be continued every 1st day of each month year-round, including winter months 🛟 Ideal Home Delta would thrive with: • Patient adopters who understand sensitive dogs • A calm and stable household • People who enjoy walks and outdoor time • Someone willing to build trust gradually • A family committed to consistency and emotional safety 🏡 Not the Best Fit • Loud or chaotic households • Homes with frequent sudden noises • Families gone for extremely long hours daily • People expecting an instantly confident or highly outgoing dog • Homes highly sensitive to shedding 💬 The Reality Delta is not a difficult dog — she is simply sensitive. Environmental instability and repeated changes have made her cautious initially, but even when nervous, she remains remarkably gentle and trusting. Her foster noted that within about a week she started approaching for affection on her own, and after about a month she appeared truly settled and emotionally comfortable. 💛 Why Delta Delta is the kind of dog who quietly becomes deeply important to you. She is emotionally gentle, incredibly kind, and genuinely wants connection. Watching her slowly relax, trust, and feel safe is the type of bond that feels deeply meaningful and earned.
