Meet Gabbee -- a petite, spirited little character who keeps life interesting and full of laughs. Gabbee's story began on a road in AK, where she stood her ground barking at the world, unsure of who to trust. She had to be safely trapped before making her way into foster care, and while her journey hasn't always been easy, she's come a long way. When she first arrived, she was dealing with some skin issues and hair loss, but with care and love, her coat has grown back beautifully. She still has a bit of itchiness, but it doesn't slow her down one bit. Gabbee is truly one of a kind. At first, she may be cautious and needs a little time to warm up to new people--but once she does, she becomes an incredibly loyal, fun-loving companion. She forms strong bonds and quickly decides her people are her whole world. She has a big personality packed into a small frame. Playful and sometimes a little mischievous, Gabbee loves to stay busy--whether she's chasing leaves, bubbles, or toys, "helping" with whatever you're doing, or even having full-on "conversations" with you. She's endlessly entertaining and will keep you smiling every day. Gabbee can be selective with other dogs and may come on strong at first, so she needs slow introductions to be happy and safe. She does settle nicely, especially on leash where she walks beautifully. She has lived alongside a cat (who was used to living with dogs) and understands boundaries when reminded. We would recommend she only be adopted to households with dog savvy cats. She's also wonderful with kids but they needs to be 7+ years old. She happily enjoys her foster's grandchild including even going on walks or jogging alongside her bike. This smart girl is both house-trained and crate-trained, loves car rides, and--believe it or not--actually enjoys bath time. She's even been known to watch TV with her people. Gabbee is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the time she needs to fully blossom. In return, she'll give you endless entertainment, companionship, and a bond that's truly special.
