DJ, or DJ72 as he was previously known as, got his freedom ride last week. He arrived at our local shelter in TX as a stray with an ear tattoo but was never reclaimed. There are a lot of Beagles from testing facilities who have been in the news lately but breeders also use tattoos like the one found on DJ. We may never know where he originally came from but he’s safe with our rescue now. DJ is about 3 years old and weighs 19 lbs. He is heartworm +, neuter surgery is tomorrow, now microchipped and current on vaccines. He’s a bit of a shy guy and takes a minute to warm up, but he’s a sweet and precious boy about 2 minutes after meeting him. He is dog, cat and kid friendly. He’s housebroken and crate trained. He would really like to have a confident and playful dog in his new home as well as a fenced yard so he has a safe space to get those zoomies out. DJ is now in NJ and searching for an adopter who lives near Chester or willing to drive him to our vet there in 2 months for drop off and pickup.
