About Rummy

Nam: Rummy Gender: Male Age: 1.5 years Weight: 11 lbs. Adoption Fee: $550 Email: yorkietude@yahoo.com 5/13/26 - Hi everyone, my name is Rummy, as in the card game, Gin Rummy! I am a proud member of the Yorkie clan, weighing in at a healthy 11 pounds. I am a lively, happy boy who is in no hurry to grow up and I treat every day like an adventure. My absolute favorite activities include chasing squirrels, playing keep-away, going for walks, and greeting every human I meet. Oops, I’m sure you are all wondering how my address changed to a foster home with YHR. Well, my mom loved me very much, but had her hands full with work, children, and life, and it became apparent to her that I was not getting the stimulation and attention that I needed. So, fast forward, “Here I am”! Previously, and currently, I sleep soundly through the night in my crate. Now, don’t take that as to mean that I wouldn’t stretch out all four paws and lay my head on your pillow in the big bed, because I will. Just say the word! But, no matter where I sleep, I have to have my best friend with me. It’s my BLANKIE! Actually, I like to bring it with me throughout the day. It is just the cutest thing. I help it out of bed in the morning and drag it from location to location as our day unfolds. Some call it insecurity, I call it smart and convenient. It’s a friend that doesn’t talk back, it’s always up for what I want to do, and if I get tired and want to nap, it’s there ready to cuddle with me. I’ve been told that I’m also very smart and love showing off by sitting on command. And even though I haven’t been here long, I’ve learned to use the doggie door, with only the occasional accident as I finish mastering my house-training. Like many young yorkies, I am working on a few manners. I tend to pull on the leash and initially bark to announce visitors. Wait, I don’t see that last one as a con, since I’m just helping out the doorbell. I guess the main one is I can get a bit nippy if anyone tries to take blankie from me. Sharing is something foster mom is working on with me. But, because of my guarding, to be safe, I’d do better in a home with older children or none at all. When I finally tire myself out, you can find me lounging on the couch soaking up all the petting and praise you can give. If you are in the market for a lively, smart, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, I’m your man!
