About Harley
Harley is a 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier currently being fostered in Kemah, TX. He’s got quite the little personality—he sleeps by his foster mom’s pillow and can play fetch for ages, even if it makes him cough. Harley has dealt with allergies and some skin flare-ups, but weekly Dermoscent baths and treatments have helped a lot. He’s stable on his prescribed medication for a collapsed trachea; sometimes he still coughs when running or playing, but he hasn’t had major respiratory trouble. He’ll need to stick with his RX low fat food diet to avoid GI issues, and he comes with a history of needing Cytopoint for itching, though less often lately. Changes can be stressful for him and cause some coughing, so his foster family wants a quiet, local home where he can transition slowly and meet new people at his own pace. Harley does best in a calm environment with easygoing dogs, and he can be a little nervous around chaos or too much activity. He’s very good about going outside to use the bathroom, though don’t expect total perfection—accidents can happen during transitions. A dental cleaning meant Harley lost a lot of teeth, but he eats canned food mixed with a little water with no trouble. He loves sleeping close, cuddles with mellow pups, and avoids jumping due to his luxating patellas (common for Yorkies). No small children for this guy—he thrives best in a peaceful, adult-centered home ready to keep up with his ongoing care and love. Click apply to start the adoption process.
