About Cooper
Cooper is a 2+ year old Border Collie, neutered, vaccinated, and healthy. He spent his early life on a quiet property near Mexico, mostly interacting with just two people and not raised for herding work. When his original caretakers could no longer look after him, he came to his current rescue. Cooper didn't get typical socialization as a puppy, so he still approaches strangers cautiously. His foster mom has made real progress with him, and Cooper does best when new people give him a little space and let him come over in his own time. For him, approaching is about no eye contact and patience until he feels comfortable asking for pets. This dog is bright, sensitive, and constantly alert to his surroundings. He takes his time to trust, but once he does, he turns out to be both a loyal companion during the day and a cuddler on the couch at night. Heāll play fetch for hours and is always up for learning something new. Cooper does well with other dogs after slow introductions and has ignored cats at the groomer. Heās house trained but needs a home without young children. Heāll thrive with a calm, patient adopter who understands his background and appreciates his quirks. Give him that and youāll have a dedicated best friend. Click apply to start the adoption process.
