Rain A184362 36 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -This beautiful girl is still learning that the world can be a safe place. New people and quick movements make her nervous, so she'll need a patient adopter who will let her move at her own pace and build trust slowly. Underneath that uncertainty though is a sweet, playful puppy who wants connection very badly. -Once outside, she spent some time exploring before deciding my lap was the safest place to be. At first she was unsure about pets and touch, but each time she realized she was safe, she relaxed a little more and leaned in a little closer. She's clearly still gaining confidence, but it's been amazing to watch her progress already. -Treats are definitely the way to this girl's heart! She's very food motivated and eager to bond with people she trusts. After she had time to explore indoors on her own, she came right back for affection and started showing her playful puppy side. A few play bows turned into full zoomies, toy chasing, bouncing all around me, and even some sweet kisses. Watching her go from cautious to playful is incredibly rewarding. -She walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling and seems eager to learn. With patience, kindness, and a calm home, this young pup is going to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
