About Oreo
Oreo is a one-and-a-half-year-old pittie mix with a gentle heart just waiting to connect. Weighing in around 48 pounds, she’s grown up alongside her sister Moon, but unlike her confident sibling, Oreo has been struggling to adjust to shelter life. Change isn’t easy for her, and she’s shy and nervous when meeting new people or experiencing new things. Once she starts to feel safe and trusted, though, her soft, loving personality slowly comes forward and she becomes deeply bonded with those who give her the time. Oreo does wonderfully with other dogs and is actually more comfortable with a calm, confident canine companion who can guide and reassure her. She also gets along well with cats. Her ideal home is quiet, stable, and calm—adults or patient teens only. She’ll thrive in a space where routines are respected and loud surprises are few. Oreo is still learning the basics of housetraining, so consistency and kindness will go a long way. A fenced-in yard is strongly preferred to help her build confidence at her own speed out in the world. She isn’t the type to run up and greet everyone eagerly, but for someone willing to move at her pace and give her a genuine chance, Oreo promises the rewarding experience of a hard-won trust.
