About Falkor

Falkor is a four-year-old Akita and Siberian Husky mix who sees the world differently—literally—but that hasn’t dampened his spirit one bit. Rescued after being found as a stray, Falkor is completely blind, most likely from birth, yet he adapts quickly to new environments by relying on his other senses and his big heart. He’s house trained, navigates his space confidently once he learns the lay of the land, and enjoys the simple comforts: a soft bed, soothing voices, and gentle affection from his people. Currently, Falkor is heartworm positive, but his rescue is handling all of his treatment so he can focus on finding a family willing to look past his medical needs. Despite everything, Falkor is social and happy—he gets along well with other dogs and children and craves the stability and love of a permanent home. If you’re able to look beyond his blindness, Falkor will show you just how much joy and devotion a dog who sees with his heart can offer. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
