About Ruby

Ruby didn’t have an easy start—she spent years outside in a dirty crate, her coat so matted her skin barely breathed. Her jaw broke from dental disease, but she pulled through, healed, and is all the brighter for it. Ruby’s a 5-year-old Lhasa Apso and Maltese mix, a small dog at 18 pounds with a long, soft coat in a warm apricot shade. She gets around smoothly on three legs after a partial amputation (which barely slows her down), and she’s waiting on a prosthetic for the future. She also lives with a heart murmur, managed well with medication, and will need occasional checkups to keep things on track. Through everything, Ruby’s spirit remained soft and open. She adores gentle companionship, loves car rides, and is always up for an adventure but knows how to enjoy quiet moments at your side. Ruby gets along beautifully with kids, other dogs, and even cats. In the house, she’s calm, well-mannered, and affectionate—always happiest when close to her people. After all she’s survived, she’s ready for a home where she’ll be valued, spoiled, and treasured. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
