About Ben
Meet Ben. He’s a 10-year-old Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix who’s handled change with more grace than most people. Ben lost his lifelong home when his owner moved abroad, and now he’s trying to make sense of things in Riverside, CA. No one has told Ben he’s a senior—he’s the first one to leap up when someone reaches for a ball. Playtime is his jam, but the rest of the time Ben just wants someone to count on. Ben responds well to routines and keeps life pretty simple: a tennis ball, a gentle touch, and knowing who’s coming through the door at the end of the day. He’s reliably house trained, loyal, and affectionate with people, although he strongly prefers to be the only dog in the home. He does get along with cats and has learned to enjoy a slower pace, with plenty of love and a bit of softness for his senior bones. Since his birthday falls in mid-February, Ben is an Aquarius—a sign known for loyalty and independence. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
