About Nezuko

Nezuko is the kind of Shiba that makes people immediately smile when they meet her. Soft cream coat, bright curious eyes, and a personality that somehow manages to be both affectionate and mischievous at the exact same time. She is a spayed female Shiba Inu born December 16, 2021, and she has spent most of her life deeply bonded to her people and living as an indoor companion. This is not a dog who was raised outside or ignored in the background. Nezuko has been loved very much, and it shows in the way she seeks out affection and interaction from the people around her. She is friendly, social, and extremely people-focused. If you sit down, she wants to be near you. If you talk to her, she lights up. She is playful, energetic, and has a very expressive, happy presence that makes her feel larger than life. Like many young Shibas, though, Nezuko is also incredibly intelligent and extremely athletic. She is absolutely an escape artist. She has climbed open pen walls, and figured out weaknesses in enclosures that most dogs would never even think to test. Because of this, her future home will need to take security very seriously. This is not a dog who can safely be left unattended in a yard and expected to simply entertain herself. That does not make her a bad dog. It makes her a very smart Shiba. Nezuko at a Glance Breed: Shiba Inu Gender: Female, spayed Date of Birth: December 16, 2021 Color: Cream Location: Florida Status: Pending Rescue Intake Personality Nezuko is described as affectionate, playful, rambunctious, and very loving with people. She rarely barks and is overall the quieter of the two dogs. While some Shibas can be emotionally reserved with strangers, Nezuko tends to immediately seek attention and pets from people she meets. She has done well around children in her previous home, though because of her excitement and energy level, very small children could potentially be knocked over accidentally during play. She is highly interactive and thrives when she has engagement, enrichment, and connection. She is also a heavy chewer and absolutely needs appropriate outlets for that energy. Durable chew toys, structured exercise, enrichment games, walks, and active engagement will be important for her long term success. Other Animals Nezuko has previously lived with cats, another small dog, and her male Shiba companion. According to her owner, she has not shown aggression toward the other animals in the home. However, she has developed some food possessiveness over time while living with another Shiba, so she should always be fed separately from other animals. As with all rescue dogs, proper introductions, decompression time, and management are important. Home Environment Nezuko would likely thrive in: A home familiar with Shiba Inu traits An active household that enjoys engagement and interaction A home committed to structure and supervision A home with secure containment and careful door management Someone who understands that intelligent dogs need both physical and mental stimulation Because of her escape tendencies, we will prioritize homes with extremely secure fencing and owners who understand primitive breed behaviors. Daily Life With Nezuko Nezuko is used to living indoors with her family. She has previously slept in bed with her owner, spent time loose in the house, and clearly enjoys being integrated into daily life. She is crate trained. She is not a “leave outside and forget about her” kind of dog. She wants involvement. She wants interaction. She wants to be part of life. The Right Home for Nezuko Nezuko needs a home that sees her intelligence as something to work with, not punish. Shibas like Nezuko are often misunderstood because they do not blindly obey without thought. They are clever, emotional, observant dogs that require trust and engagement. In the right home, Nezuko will likely be an incredibly rewarding companion. She is funny, expressive, affectionate, and deeply connected to people. She simply needs a home prepared for the reality that smart dogs require smart management. GPS Requirement All Shiba Saviors adoptions require active GPS tracking.
