Dear Future Family, My name is Monroe! I'm an 80-pound sweetheart from Alabama looking for the people I can call my own. I'm still getting used to this new life, but I've already discovered that cozy beds, couches, and being near my people are some of my favorite things! I can be shy and a little fearful at first, especially in new situations, but if you give me patience and kindness, I warm up beautifully. Once I trust you, I love deeply and loyally! My foster mom says I'm her shadow because I always want to be close by. People are truly my favorite thing. I'm a pretty calm, low-key guy -- more cuddle companion than marathoner. I sleep nicely in my crate at night as long as I know my people are nearby, and I'm fully house trained. Good boy, right?! I'm also learning all about walks, and it turns out I'm very good at them. I walk right at your side without pulling and seem happiest just being together. I like other dogs, too.
