About Lydia
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Meet Lydia, the charming polka-dot foxhound mix who is ready to snuggle her way into your heart. Lydia is a playful and affectionate 48-pound companion with the cutest polka-dot tummy, making her a delight every spring. She loves nothing more than to burrow under a blanket with her favorite human and soak up all the pets, especially on her soft head and ears. Lydia is always excited to meet new people—her wagging tail shows her friendly nature and eagerness to make new friends. Her days are happily spent napping, enjoying relaxed walks or "sniffaris" around the neighborhood, and chewing on her favorite toys and treats. Lydia is enthusiastic about playing fetch, although she may forget to bring the ball back in her excitement to squeak it. She’s perfectly content to be left alone for stretches of time, especially if there’s a cozy spot to curl up. House-trained and skilled at basic commands like sit, down, stay, wait, and "watch me,” Lydia is well-mannered and adaptable. She prefers a calm household, needing a home without young children due to their unpredictability, but she blossoms around adults and older children or teenagers. Lydia can live happily with another dog that matches her mellow energy or would love being the center of attention as the only dog. Fun fact: Lydia’s sun sign is Aquarius, known for being social, gentle, and friendly—much like her personality! If you’re searching for a sweet, low-key, and silly companion, Lydia could be your perfect match. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Lydia
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Hound mixes thrive in homes where they receive lots of companionship, affection, and regular exercise. They adapt well to both houses with yards and apartments if given daily walks and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While hound mixes enjoy having access to a fenced yard, they can thrive in homes without one if provided with daily walks and playtime. Providing opportunities to sniff and explore outdoors is important for their happiness.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Many hound mixes do well with older children who are respectful and understand canine boundaries. Supervision is recommended, especially with younger kids, as some hounds may be sensitive to loud noises or unexpected gestures.
