If Sunshine Had a Tail Demi is the kind of dog that makes strangers smile at stoplights. At around 2–3 years old and 50 lbs, this handsome retriever mix somehow carries himself like everybody he meets is already a close personal friend. He has that warm, easygoing golden retriever energy where life just seems a little less stressful when he’s around. Not in an over-the-top, bouncing-off-the-walls way either. Demi’s more like that emotionally stable friend who always shows up with snacks, good vibes, and somehow knows exactly where the sunny spot in the yard is. And truly, there is not a single creature this boy does not seem prepared to adore. Dogs? Incredible. Cats? Wonderful. Humans? The greatest thing that’s ever happened to him. He would absolutely love another playful pup sibling because friendship appears to be one of his favorite hobbies. He’s eager to please, deeply connected to his people, and affectionate in that genuine, soul-deep kind of way—the kind of dog who quietly follows you from room to room just because being near you is enough to make his whole day. He has the face of a dog who would absolutely help you carry groceries if he had thumbs. Demi was found wandering the streets of a Texas border town in rough shape, missing much of his fur and clearly having had a hard road behind him. But you’d never know it now other than the fact he loves kindness with his entire heart. His coat is growing back beautifully, his confidence is blooming right alongside it, and every single day he somehow gets even more handsome. This boy has the most balanced temperament. He enjoys walks, outdoor time, and adventures, but he’s equally content stretched out in the grass sunbathing like a retired man in Florida who’s finally figured life out. No chaos. No drama. No nonsense. Just a genuinely lovely dog who wants people to love and somewhere soft to land. And honestly? Demi feels special. He feels like slow mornings, windows down on car rides, fresh laundry, golden hour light coming through the house, and a dog sleeping nearby while you do absolutely nothing together. The type of dog that becomes woven into your routine so naturally it starts feeling like he was always supposed to be there. Some dogs are pets.
