About Dixie
Dixie is adjusting from her former life as an abandoned hunting dog to living as a family companion. She shows early signs of shyness, but given time and patience, she becomes a loyal, people-loving beagle who simply wants affection. Now about two years old, Dixie is discovering new joys—she has started to play with toys and other dogs in her foster home, showing more curiosity and confidence each week. She’s learning the basics of house life, including mastering the doggie door and using potty pads indoors. Walks on leash are new to her, but she’s getting the hang of it with slow, gentle introductions. Dixie does not show food aggression and gradually warms up to new dogs. She’ll likely thrive with someone home often or in a family where another dog can be a positive influence. Dixie gets along well with other dogs and children, making her a good fit for a variety of households. She’s a gentle, patient soul looking for someone to show her what a loving home is like.
