Meet 26-Ember Spayed Female Border Collie 5-6 years old Around 45 lbs House trained: Yes Crate Trainer: Yes Cats: No Dogs: Her size or larger is best Kids: Unknown, but we think she would do well Ember is a border collie, estimated to be around 5-6 years old, with medium energy. She probably weighs around 45 lbs. Ember is friendly to all people she has met. She loves to be petted and is often persistent in requesting pets. She slept quietly all night in a crate the first few nights, but prefers to rotate between the open crate, a pillow nearby in the bedroom and on the floor. She has never had an accident in the house. We do not have a dog door but if she goes to the sliding door we open it. She loves her people and follows us inside and out and around the yard. She has not been left alone since we've had her. Ember is very smart, knows some basic commands - sit, down, stay and wait. She loves to go for walks and is very excited when she sees the leash. She walks well on a leash and seems respectful when passing other dogs on leash. She is a great car rider and lays down in the back. Since she is friendly to all people she has met, my guess is she would be good with kids. She is not a good fit with dogs smaller than her and while she has not been around cats I would say probably not. With dogs her size or larger she can be a little pushy. With the right dog she could enjoy a companion but she could also be a good only dog for a fairly active family or person.
