Forest! is a sweet mix of Chihuahua and Border Collie, with medium to high energy and a playful spirit. Born around September 2024 and weighing about 20 lbs, Forest! has a unique blend of 15 breeds, but Chihuahua and Border Collie make up most of him. He thrives around other friendly dogs, loves playtime with toys, and is partial to chew bones. Swimming or hiking, he’s always up for an outdoor adventure, but in the evenings he’s just as happy curled up on the couch with his favorite people. Forest! can be shy when meeting strangers and prefers slow, gentle introductions. He’s made good progress in his foster home, growing more confident each day, though his calm and affectionate side really shows once he’s settled. He connects more quickly with women, but with patience, men win him over too. Forest! is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is house trained. He gets along with other dogs, and does well with dog-savvy cats, but will chase timid or skittish cats. He’s not suited for homes with young children; respectful kids over 12 would be best. Because Forest! enjoys time with both people and animals, he shouldn’t be left alone for long hours and needs a yard—an apartment setting isn’t a fit since he’s an alert barker.
