Dogs: Yes Cats: Possibly Kids: Unknown Housetrained: Yes Meet Palisades — a happy-go-lucky two-year-old, 17-pound Maltese Terrier mix looking for his forever home! Palisades is full of personality and joy. He absolutely loves to play, enjoys splashing around in water, and had the best time at doggy daycare where he made lots of furry friends. He seems to do well with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog companion, especially since having a buddy may help ease some of his separation anxiety. This sweet boy is potty trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out, though he doesn’t yet signal consistently. He’s also been through training and really enjoyed learning new things — he’d love a family who will continue helping him build confidence and skills. Palisades is affectionate and loves being close to his people. At bedtime, his favorite place is curled up next to you. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, his fun-loving personality shines through. He gets excited when it’s time for walks, but once he gets going, he settles down nicely and enjoys the adventure. While it’s unknown how he would do living with cats, he has shown calm behavior around the feral cats his foster feeds and does not bark at them. Like many rescue pups, Palisades does experience some separation anxiety when left alone. Because of this, he hasn’t spent much time in a crate and would do best with a patient family who can help him feel safe and secure when home alone.
