BLACKIE ARRIVES TUESDAY & HE HAS NOWHERE TO GO. For 8 years, Blackie's life has known very little kindness. This small senior poodle spent his entire life being abused and neglected. Instead of being loved like family, he was treated like he didn't matter. And in the end, the people who were supposed to protect him simply gave him away to breeders. After everything he's endured, Blackie is arriving at Denkai Animal Sanctuary on Tuesday terrified and unsure of the world around him. And right now, he still does NOT have a foster or adoptive home waiting for him. He is a very scared little dog. The kind of scared that comes from years of being failed by humans. We don't know how many times Blackie was yelled at, ignored, hurt, or left wondering if anyone would ever care about him. What we do know is that dogs like him often get overlooked because they're fearful and shut down. But underneath that fear is a dog who deserves patience, safety, and finally being shown what love feels like. Blackie needs a calm, compassionate foster or adopter willing to give him time to decompress and heal. He does not need perfection. He just needs someone willing to be gentle with his heart.
