About Bourbon
Bourbon is a 2-3 year old terrier mix who never fails to turn an ordinary day into a show. One minute, he’s tearing around the yard in a burst of speed; the next, he’s launching himself over fences with shocking agility—Bourbon seems convinced he’s got Olympic potential. Because of his leaping skills, he’ll only be safe outside if he’s on a tie-out, leash, or inside a fence that’s truly tall and secure. The thing is, even when he does take a flying leap, he comes right back in, ready for snacks and content to find his own spot in the kennel, like nothing unusual just happened. Bourbon is a burst of affection and personality rolled into a muscular, short-haired, yellow-tan dog. He lights up for training treats, peanut butter, and toys—basically, anything that might keep his attention longer than a couple minutes. Rules are a work in progress for him. He likes to mouth the leash and gets overstimulated sometimes, but he learns quickly with patience and snacks. Think of him as a giant, overgrown toddler who occasionally skips naptime. He does well around other friendly dogs, but meets are required since he’s got his own opinions about canine company. No one knows yet how Bourbon reacts to cats. Families with older, dog-savvy kids will be a better fit, as he jumps and plays hard and needs structure to match his energy. In the end, Bourbon promises a house full of laughter and a dog who keeps life moving. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
