Meet #Spade Spade is one of the newest faces at our shelter, and unfortunately, he recently lost the only home he knew. Now we are determined to help this big boy find a second chance at the wonderful life he deserves. Spade is a Lab mix, about a year and a half old, and he is a BIG handsome guy… probably pushing close to 80 pounds. We’ll be honest — our boy could stand to lose a few pounds but we think that’s partly why he seems older than he really is. A family willing to help him get active again with walks, playtime, and maybe even a fenced-in yard would do wonders for him both physically and mentally. Right now, Spade is a little timid and unsure of all the changes happening around him. Losing your home is hard. Ending up in a loud shelter surrounded by barking dogs is confusing and stressful. But even with all of that, he has been very sweet with the people here, and as he starts to decompress, we know more of his personality will shine through. So far, he doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, but he has not been fully dog tested yet and has not been cat tested. Rehoming a dog is not always easy to talk about, but sometimes life changes and families can no longer keep their pets. What matters most now is making sure Spade’s next chapter is better than his last. He deserves stability. He deserves patience. He deserves someone who will love him through every season of life and never let him end up homeless again.
