Merlin & Shadow are a bonded pair of 3-year-old, neutered male Domestic Long Hair cats with impressive gray coats—Merlin's a lighter silver with stunning green eyes, while Shadow has a deeper, smoky shade and warm golden eyes. Although they started out their lives as feral and wary of humans, their time in foster care has brought out a strong social streak, especially when things are calm and unrushed. These two are tightly connected; Shadow quite literally trails behind Merlin, leaning on his brother’s confidence and taking cues on when to be brave. Merlin is a bit reserved at first but responds to food, lower back scratches, and playtime. He won't seek your lap out yet, but if you scoop him up, he'll nestle in and roll for belly rubs. He also does well around other cats and seems at ease with gentle dogs. Shadow spends his days lounging on the cat tree, tuning in closely to Merlin's behavior. He's skittish with new people, but purrs loudly for his trusted foster parent and can be swayed by gentle attention and favorite treats.
