About Princess Leia

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 8 (5M, 3F) transferred from Second Chance Dog Rescue in TX. Litter of 10 puppies was found on the side of the road at 1 week old and taken in as bottle babies. Puppies had hookworms and two were hospitalized, one did not survive. Once healthy, 8 in the litter were transferred to CPR at approximately 5 weeks old and a Texas foster kept one. From the foster: 521 Princess Leia. What a little lovebug. This Princess will melt your heart with her soulful eyes and how easily she just falls asleep right in your lap. She just has a soothing gentleness about her. She trusts easily and really loves being with people. Don't let her fluffy soft appearance fool you, though. She does not take any tom-foolery from her sibling brothers - all larger than her, and is the first to keep everyone in line. She also does enjoy playing and belly rubs. Princess Leia is a smart puppy. She sits for treats and maneuvers small numbers of steps with ease. She seems to be happy to wonder off on her own to explore her surroundings without her siblings, but also enjoys a good wrestle followed by a puppy pile nap. As for the basics? Princess Leia prefers to potty outside over inside (still accidents inside, but getting there!). She indicates her need to go with super cute little squeaks. She and her three brothers have been fostered with our 2 medium/large dogs (~50 and ~75 lbs), and have done great. She is also a big hit with our teenagers and their friends. I think it's safe to say she's well socialized. We have no idea how she'd do with cats, but she gets gold stars for his interactions with everyone else! She is the most likely of this group of puppies to be happy staying inside - but she also loves being outside. She loves to sleep with her siblings or to fall asleep in your lap, so she may be lonely on her own at first - learning new places can be hard! This little Princess is going to bring so much joy to some lucky family. My daughter begged us to keep her. . .If we only had space for one more permanent resident!! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
