About Solo

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 8 (5M, 3F) transferred from Second Chance Dog Rescue in TX. Litter of 10 puppies was found on the side of the road at 1 week old and taken in as bottle babies. Puppies had hookworms and two were hospitalized, one did not survive. Once healthy, 8 in the litter were transferred to CPR at approximately 5 weeks old and a Texas foster kept one. From the foster: 517 Han Solo. What a treat it has been to host this little fella! While definitely still just a baby with all the typical puppy traits, Solo has been one of the best behaved puppies we've ever fostered. He is the most watchful and reserved of the 4 siblings we had this time around. That said, he is in no way timid, he just has a slightly quieter demeanor than his siblings. This puppy is clever. He was the first to catch on to getting up and down our patio steps, the first to learn how to sit for treats (and take them gently), and the puppy least likely to play too roughly with the humans in our house. With his siblings? All bets are off. He's as rough and tumble as they come. Curious, intelligent and personable, he's going to make some family extremely happy. As for the basics? Solo prefers to potty outside over inside (still accidents inside, but getting there!). He was fostered with 2 medium/large dogs (~50 and ~75 lbs), and did great. He was also a big hit with our teenagers and their friends. I think it's safe to say he's well socialized. We have no idea how he'd do with cats, but he gets gold stars for his interactions with everyone else! This boy LOVES being outside. I mean, LOVES it. He prefers being outside over inside every time. He has a nice thick, soft coat that insulates him well. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
