Meet Skye, a sweet, loving, and curious puppy who's ready to bring joy, cuddles, and companionship into her forever home! Skye is the kind of pup who wants to be everyone's best friend—whether it's her humans, foster dog siblings, or even feline friends. She has a gentle, affectionate personality and absolutely loves being close to her people. After some playtime, she's happiest curled up for snuggles, and she especially enjoys cozy “contact cuddles” before settling nicely into her kennel for the night. Her energy level is just right for her age—playful and fun without being overwhelming. She enjoys rope toys, tug-of-war, and proudly carrying sticks around outside like little treasures. On walks, she does wonderfully on leash, often “prancing” along beside her buddies with the occasional playful hop to keep things exciting. This smart girl is already showing off her good manners. Skye will sit automatically when she sees treats coming (no reminder needed!) and is learning “down” and “come.” She's eager to learn and loves connecting with her people, making her a joy to train. Skye is incredibly loyal and attentive, always keeping an eye on her humans. She's also building confidence and independence, happily engaging with puzzle toys and chew toys when left alone for short periods. Around the house, she's been a star—she has free roam when her fosters are home and hasn't shown any interest in chewing furniture or getting into trouble. Her potty training is going very well, with some days already accident-free. She's even taught herself to use the doggy door and has started signaling when she needs to go out by placing her paws near the door. Even better, she sleeps through the night like a champ (10pm–6am!) and keeps her kennel clean overnight. Skye has been fostered with a cat and is friendly and curious, showing interest in play while also respecting boundaries when corrected. When meeting new dogs, she may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality shines through. As her foster sibling perfectly said, “she is going to make someone very happy.” With her loving heart, balanced personality, and adorable curiosity, Skye is ready to become a loyal companion, cuddle buddy, and best friend to a very lucky family. This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
