About Comeause Dartha Vader

General Notes | Dartha, or as her fosters call her, Q-Tip (haha!) is adventurous, curious, and very sweet. She is observant, following the lead of the pack, and is adoring of both her foster parents and foster siblings and anyone who is looking for cuddles! Her foster family is still getting to know her, but thinks she has a pretty typical lab demeanor, and sees her getting up to typical puppy shenanigans! She likes to explore, get toys and chase them around the house, play tug, and already knows where the crate is/when it is time for a nap. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Personality | Q-Tip/Dartha currently resides with a lab foster brother and a lab foster sister in addition to her foster parents. She's great with dogs of all sizes, and is learning to follow their lead and their cues. She has met the neighbor's cat and was curious and excited by him, but kept her distance, respecting her space. She does well following the lead of her foster family, and is mindful of routine. She likes sleeping in her crate, enticing her sister and lab foster siblings into play, and taking midday naps with the family dogs. Q-Tip is about as cuddly as they come, and loves to snuggle with both her foster parents and furry foster siblings. She spends her days sleeping on foster dad's toes as he works, curled up on the couch, or in the bed next to her lab foster brother. She adores kiddos, and would be happy to have a family that likes cuddles and games of chase too! Story | Dumped in rural Texas, a local rescue stepped in to keep these puppies safe until they could make their way to Colorado to find their forever families! She was placed with a foster in TX for three weeks before making her way to Colorado to live a great life of adventure! She is sweet, well socialized now, and so excited to continue to grow and learn. Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! Q-Tip/Dartha is playful but respectful! When her foster siblings growl or set the tone that they don't want to be messed with, she rolls over or walks away. She is great at reading the room, and knowing their boundaries. She likes to snuggle, follows her foster siblings around, and encourages them in play by dropping toys at their feet. Cats | She is young enough to do well with kitties with proper intros! Her fosters think she would do great with a kitty sibling. Children | She is young enough to do well with kind, respectful kiddos. She loves loves loves snuggles and would thrive with littles who want to teach her, give her attention, and cherish her! Training | In progress. Q-Tip/Dartha is 95% potty trained, sleeps in a crate at night, and has mastered "sit." The rest of her training is in the works! Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks. Activity Level | Moderate/High. Typical puppy who loves to play, nap, repeat! Health Notes | Healthy and happy :) UTD on all vaccinations. Thank you! Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
