About Rocky
Rocky is around 4-5 years old and has already weathered more than most dogs ever should. After escaping a hoarding crisis sparked by a failed rescue effort, he and several others were abandoned in the woods. Thankfully, every one of them, including Rocky, was found and brought to safety. Unfortunately, Rocky was adopted and then returned—no fault of his own, but he struggled with a young child in the household. What Rocky wants most is a gentle environment where he can feel safe. He has a deep bond with his friend Amelia, another survivor with a wounded past. The two brighten up in each other’s company, providing each other comfort and confidence to reach out for human friendship again. Rocky gets along with other dogs and cats. He’s house trained and up to date on vaccinations. Small kids and babies overwhelm him, but he’ll warm up kindly to older children, teens, and adults. He’s searching for a home that’s calm, patient, and loving—a fenced yard is a must. In the best-case scenario, he and Amelia would be adopted together, though he’ll thrive with loving people and perhaps another gentle dog. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
