About Wendy
Wendy has found her rhythm in Colorado after years of surviving neglect and hardship. When Wendy landed in the rescue from a Houston shelter, she carried a patchwork of old injuries: BB gun pellets lodged under her skin, wounds likely from being hit by a car, chronic hip trauma, arthritis, and a stubborn case of heartworm. Hard living has left its mark, but veterinarians estimate she is about 6 years old—her body simply bears the history of what she has endured. Despite it all, Wendy welcomes everyone with gentle kisses. She’s sweet, trusting, and ready for affection, especially around food and treats. She gets along beautifully with children and other dogs, and she’s comfortable with cats as well. Her history hasn’t soured her gentle nature—the opposite, really. Wendy will soon get the medical care she needs, including spay surgery, extensive dental work, and further heartworm treatment. She’s finally surrounded by people who want her to experience comfort and safety for the first time. Wendy has overcome more than most, and her quiet resilience stands out in the best way.
