This sweet young Goldendoodle, estimated to be around two years old, is a backyard breeder survivor who's just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. Maple is a gentle, affectionate girl whose favorite place is right by her person's side. She lives for cuddles, cozy moments, and the simple joy of feeling safe and loved. Because of her difficult start, Maple is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. She's not yet a big fan of the outdoors, but she's making progress and has started to enjoy short "sniffari" adventures at her own pace. With patience and encouragement, her confidence continues to grow. Maple is mostly potty trained and is working on using potty bells to communicate when she needs to go out. She's comfortable in a kennel for several hours when needed, though she'd much rather be snuggled up in bed with her person at night. She can coexist with other dogs and may even engage in some playful moments, but she can be protective of her food, toys, and attention-understandable traits given her past. Because of this, her ideal home would be one where she can be the center of attention as the only dog, or possibly with a calm, older dog who isn't interested in sharing toys. She's friendly with adults but her experience with children and cats are unknown. A quieter home where she can continue building confidence would suit her best. Maple walks nicely on a leash and, while she hasn't had formal training yet, she is incredibly smart and highly food-motivated-making her a great candidate for learning quickly with positive reinforcement. Like many doodles, she does have a tendency to bark, but she's already making progress in learning when to settle. Maple has been thoroughly checked over by a vet and is in good health and at a healthy weight. Her coat is still recovering and a bit patchy in places, but it's growing in beautifully-and she enjoys being brushed.
