About Romeo

Easygoing, Social, and Everybody’s Favorite Romeo is a 7–8 month old terrier mix who somehow missed the memo that puppies are supposed to be chaotic. He’s got the confidence, the social skills, and the personality—but he’s running it all on a surprisingly calm operating system. Rescued alongside his sister Juliette (yes, the name is accurate, yes, they’re both stars), Romeo is the easygoing half of the duo. He’s the kind of dog who walks into a room like he’s been there before, makes friends immediately, and then casually finds a comfortable place to lay down like he pays rent. And honestly—we seriously cannot get over how sweet this boy is. He’s incredibly social—people, dogs, new environments, doesn’t matter. Romeo approaches life like, “Yeah, I’m good with this.” He loves everyone he meets and makes sure they know it with a steady supply of kisses. Not overwhelming, not chaotic—just a friendly “hey, glad you’re here” kind of affection. And for a puppy? He’s shockingly chill. Inside the house, Romeo is all about the good life. You’ll find him: passed out on a dog bed with all four feet in the air, casually working on a Kong like it’s his 9–5, or tucked into his crate, taking a nap like a seasoned professional Outside, he enjoys a good walk or a little playtime, but he’s not bouncing off the walls. He walks beautifully on leash and moves through the world with this quiet confidence that makes him incredibly easy to have around. He does love other dogs and would love a home with a canine sibling—he’s social, respectful, and knows how to just exist with other dogs without making everything a full-contact sport. He's also confident to go into a home as the solo house canine. Romeo is still young, so he’s continuing to learn the basics, but he’s the kind of dog that makes you feel like you’re a few steps ahead right out of the gate. He’s attentive, easygoing, and just naturally tuned in. He’s not the “keep you on your toes” puppy. He’s the “how did we get this lucky?” puppy. The kind you look over at during a quiet evening and think—yeah, this one just fits. +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.stmuttsrescue.com/adoption-application +++++++ Romeo is currently in foster care in New Jersey and will be transported to his approved adoptive family. +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ Once we receive your application, our team will review it and reach out to set up an interview with one of our volunteers. If you have any questions, please email SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com . Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both pets and families.
