About Maddox

Maddox is the definition of a comfort dog—part lap-warmer, part softhearted homebody, and completely dedicated to his people. At around five years old, this blue terrier/pit mix weighs about 40 lbs and carries himself with an old-soul calmness. His coat is short and velvety, somewhere between a blue and cream coloring that’s as easy on the eyes as it is to pet. Maddox believes pillows, blankets, and any available soft thing exist solely for his comfort. He thrives on contact; you’ll find his head in your lap more often than not. Maddox loves to curl up close and seems to consider hugs a full-time job. He carries his toys like treasures and moves with an easy confidence from window patrol to the yard, where he proves that doing absolutely nothing can be an art. He takes eating (and snacks) very seriously, so meals disappear fast unless managed with a slow feeder. Water sometimes excites him so much he forgets himself, but it’s a harmless quirk. This isn’t a dog who needs chaos or rough play. Give him gentle vibes, clear boundaries, and a yard to lounge in, and he’s golden. Maddox gets along well with friendly dogs and easily adapts to calm leadership. He’s house trained, pulls a bit on leash at first, and isn’t a crate fan but will settle in if it’s cozy. His best fit is with someone who understands how deeply he attaches—and appreciates a dog who chooses his person completely. Homes with children 10 and up are recommended. He’s in Longview, TX, and ready to travel for the right home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
