Meet Rosco, a six-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing 50 pounds. Rosco’s story started on a confusing note. He was brought in by someone who claimed a friend had left him in their care, but when we followed up on his information, it turned out that person was actually his owner. Whatever the circumstances, Rosco is now looking for a home that will offer him the stability and honesty he deserves moving forward. This young guy was originally purchased from a breeder, and we even know his birthday — he’s very much in that "teenager" phase where energy is high, curiosity is endless, and boundaries are still a work in progress. Rosco is full of drive and loves to play. He’s the kind of dog who wants something to do, whether that’s learning new skills, exploring the world, or burning off energy with his person. He can get a bit mouthy and overly excited, especially in new situations, so he’ll benefit from continued socialization and consistent training to help him channel that enthusiasm in the right direction. As a German Shepherd-type dog, Rosco shows many of the traits the breed is known for — intelligence, loyalty, and a strong desire to work and bond with his person. German Shepherds thrive when given structure, clear expectations, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Without that guidance, their smarts and energy can turn into mischief, which is exactly where Rosco is right now — not a bad dog, just a young one who needs direction. With the right home, Rosco has incredible potential. He’s curious about everything, eager to engage, and ready to learn. A committed adopter who can provide training, routine, and positive outlets for his energy will help him grow into a well-mannered and devoted companion. If you’re ready for an active, intelligent dog who will keep you on your toes and reward you with loyalty and fun, Rosco might be your perfect match.
