I didn't always know what to do in new places, but I'm starting to figure it out... one step at a time. My name is Arielle, and I've been here since 1/06/2026 after coming from Animal Friends of the Valley. When I first arrived, everything felt a little overwhelming. I stuck close to the edges, stayed near the gate, and needed some encouragement just to move around. I wasn't sure yet, and I took my time. But I'm not the same dog I was back then. These days, I'm starting to come out of my shell. I'm moving around more freely, staying in the yard without trying to leave, and even reaching out to other dogs to invite them to play. I still like to check in with my surroundings, especially near entrances, but I'm learning that I don't have to stay there to feel safe. With other dogs, I do best with gentle, respectful companions. I've shown that I can play, hang out, and communicate clearly when I need space. If another dog gets too overwhelming, I'll let them know, but I'm not looking to cause problems. I just want things to feel comfortable. With people, I'm a bit on the quieter side at first. I don't rush in, but if you give me time, I'll start to open up and come toward you. I'm sensitive, so I do best with calm handling and a steady approach. My energy is soft and balanced. I enjoy moving around and engaging, but I'm not overwhelming or high-pressure. I'm more about building confidence than burning energy. What I need most is a patient home that understands I'm still growing into myself. I've already made a lot of progress, and with the right support, I'm going to keep gaining confidence and showing more of who I am.
