Wonka is a 1‐year‐old Chihuahua mix weighing 10.9 pounds, and he's currently a bit underweight after being found as a stray. When he first arrived, he was having some trouble with his back end, but after a few weeks of monitoring and care from our veterinary team, he has recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start. Wonka is still adjusting to the shelter environment and can become overwhelmed, which has made it difficult for him to find a compatible playmate here so far. We believe this is more about the stress of the environment than his true personality. He is very sweet with people, but we would not recommend him for homes with young children who may not understand boundaries, as he needs gentle handling and a calm introduction to new situations. His adoption fee is $300. Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether he is housebroken. Upon intake, every animal receives: Spay/neuter surgery Microchip All age‐appropriate vaccinations Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed) Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption Please note that adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.
