About Scout
Scout has been through a lot, but he’s never lost his drive or his big heart. At three years old, this Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler is sharp, loyal, and has an eager mind that needs challenge, structure, and adventure. He craves close human companionship and thrives when given purpose—he loves nothing more than curling up beside you after a hard day’s work (for both of you). Scout spent his early years in a turbulent home with no guidance and too much aggression from other dogs. Despite being failed by people in the past, he’s held onto trust and love for those who invest in him. He needs someone experienced with working breeds—a confident, attentive person or couple ready to pour energy and consistency into his training and daily activity. He’s not a match for homes with other pets or young children. Scout can be excitable at first, especially leaving his crate, but settles beautifully inside and is house trained, crate trained, neutered, healthy, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He’s currently in his third foster placement and needs a permanent home with a fenced yard, robust exercise, and lots of mental stimulation. Scout does not get along with dogs, cats, or small animals. If you’re looking for an incredibly loyal, loving dog and you move at his ambitious pace, Scout will reward you every day with commitment and affection. This isn’t a fixer-upper—it’s a dog ready to give everything, given the right structure and care. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
